T Minus 15 hours and 30 minutes

So, after 5 months of regular season racing, tomorrow we start racing for the National Championship Titles.  At this stage of the season... just getting to the line is a huge accomplishment, but with that said... the dream deep down in the heart of everyone rolling to the line is to go home with the stars and stripes jersey.

I am not in the business of making predictions.  It is a race of skill, fitness and heart... but it is also a race of luck and sometimes good or bad luck.  Based on the couse layout, a mechanical or bad crash on the far side of the course can put a person with a 1 minute lead, in a position of losing the race because they have no access to a pit for a bike change... that happened today. That was heartbreaking luck for the person in the lead but great luck for the person in second place, they walked home with the win.
The course is very fair to the cross racer. It's got sections that are tricky, hard, scary as hell and will make you want to throw up...all the things a great cross course requires. Now all we have to do is go out there tomorrow and ride like our hair is on fire and see how it all shakes out. This is my last entry until after we race tomorrow... Keep your fingers crossed for all the folks racing for Blue Steel as well as the other New England racing teams. Till later, Kath
