We arrived last night after a long day of driving through lake effects snow storms, I don't recommend it to the faint of heart. Had a great mexican meal with some Negro Modelos and a good nights sleep and now the fun begins.
Being a pit tootsie/mechanic in an important venue like this is bringing on more stress than I anticipated. Preparation is everything, between the four of us we have 9 bikes and 35 wheels with all kinds of tire combinations to use depending on conditions. In addition we have a enough replacement parts to open Blue Cyclery 2. Kathy has a container the guys at her shop named the Captain hook treasure chest, it took three of us to move it into the room.
Today Tom and I will start going over all of the bikes to make sure everything is adjusted and lubed and in perfect working order. Tire pressures and lube types will be decided depending on course conditions and temperatures. We will be pre-riding the course at two o'clock to get an idea on these adjustments.
Oooops, Kathy just informed me that pit tootsie duties include keeping her computer in top operating condition so I to go for now to help her get online. More PT duties to follow.
